The French president has pledged to continue France’s engagement with its former African colonies.

MACRON: “If we abandon African countries to their own fate, the timing will be unfortunate. Africa remains the least developed continent, and history highlights our responsibility to support its development. A complete withdrawal could hinder progress. There is still substantial work to be done in Africa, and we believe they need continued guidance to thrive without our support.”
